St. Nikolaus-Hospital / Cusanusstift

Ein sensationelles Schatzkästlein aus dem 15. Jahrhundert. Kirche mit grandiosem gotischen Flügeltüren mit Bildnis des Stifters. Davor am Boden eine Messingplatte, unter der das Herz des Kardinals und Pholosophen ruht. Der Körper ist in S. pietro in vincoli in Rom. interessiert hätte mich noch sehr seine erhaltene Bibliothek. die hatte aber zu. also wenn möglich den besuch nach den Führungen bzw. Öffnungszeiten abstimmen!

First off, there is no museum here any more so don’t expect a museum tour. However, the wine tasting is everything you could want. For €35 you get given a glass and access to the cellar which has over 100 bottles of wine. You can sample any of the wines (self pour - just go to the correct fridge, grab the numbered bottle and pour away). There is detailed info on all the wines and uniquely it has wines from a range of vineyards and families. We spent a couple of hours dabbling in the wines, jotting down notes on the tasting sheet and picking a bottle or two to take home. If it is raining in Bernkastel-Kues, waste the afternoon here.
